Exercise, just like nutrition, is always in the spotlight when there’s a desire to improve health and lose weight.
Exercise is important. But if you only focus on exercise you will have a difficult time achieving lifelong wellness. Being fit and being healthy are not the same thing.
People ask me all the time “what is the best form of exercise.” Ready for a secret? There is not a perfect exercise.
Everyone is different!
Our bodies are different. Our current fitness levels are different. So, it would make sense that our exercise needs are going to be different. What’s really important here is that you choose something you enjoy. Make sure it aligns with your current level of fitness and helps you make safe progress toward your goal.
Weight lifting, running, yoga, swimming, rock climbing, I could go on and on. They’re all great choices!
With so many options, I recommend trying a new form of exercise from time to time. See what makes you feel good at this current point in your journey. Change is constant, so keep in mind if you previously tried some type of exercise that didn’t feel good to you then, it may feel great now! The key is to be open to change and variety.
Speaking of variety, I’d like to share this tip with you: Be sure you’re changing up your workout routine from time to time. Our bodies are amazingly good at adapting to stimulus quickly so make sure you’re coming up with ways to shake things up a bit to boost up your metabolism!
Each Pillar of Health is just as important as the others. Our ultimate goal should be to achieve a state of balance in each pillar so that we can experience optimal health and greater happiness. Check out the links below to learn more about the other pillars.
